Dr Stanislav Grof adviced His patients to switch to a heavier diet than veganism or vegetarian food temporarily when the transformation is too heavy. I continue on the vegan path because of the karmic consequences of eating meat. I care about the animals. Eating meat stops the kundalini, but also blocks evolution.

Kundalini is not typically described as "consuming" the body in the sense of destroying it, but rather as an intense, transformative force that can feel like it is burning away impurities, false identities, and energetic blockages.   • A "Burning" Process: Many descriptions of Kundalini involve a "scorch" or "burning" sensation, which is interpreted as the awakening, high-voltage energy consuming the ego or illusory self.
  • "Eating" the Physicality: In early Hatha Yoga literature, Kundalini is sometimes described as "consuming" the prana (life force) and fluids of the body as it rises.
  • Purging and Rebirth: The process is often likened to a "body purge" on many levels, transforming the nervous system and physical, emotional, and spiritual selves.
Potential Risks and Physical Impacts
If the Kundalini energy is forced, uncontrolled, or awakened in a body that is not prepared, it can feel damaging.
  • Nervous System Strain: The immense heat and electrical nature of the energy can cause "exhaustion" or "burnout" of the nervous system, kidneys, and adrenals.
  • Physical Symptoms: The awakening can bring about intense physical sensations like spasms, trembling, or "jolts".
  • Mental Health Impact: It can cause a feeling of severe crisis or "spiritual psychosis" in some individuals, often described as an "emptiness sickness".
Key Considerations for Safety
  • Preparation: A structured approach (like yoga or meditation) is generally recommended to prepare the nervous system, rather than forcing an awakening.
  • Need for Grounding: Those going through this process are advised to ground themselves to prevent damage from the intense energy.
In summary, it is a process of radical transformation that can feel like it is burning away old aspects of oneself, but the goal is typically not the destruction of the body itself, but its purification.
