Frankrijk wil ‘humanitair vluchtelingenkamp’ bouwen in Calais. #prayerstomichaelforfrance #helpandtruth

De Franse overheid gaat in Calais, waar duizenden vluchtelingen opeengepakt zitten, een nieuw ‘humanitair kamp’ bouwen. Dat moet tegen begin 2016 klaar zijn en onderdak bieden aan 1.500 vluchtelingen. Dat heeft de Franse premier Manuel Valls tijdens een bezoek aan de Noord-Franse stad aangekondigd. Voor die bouw krijgt Parijs vijf miljoen euro steun van de Europese Unie. Burgemeester Natacha Bouchart van Calais reageerde blij en niet blij op de hulp. ‘Het is een gebaar, maar een vrij zwak gebaar. Er is zeker 25 miljoen euro nodig’, zei de burgemeester (die lid is van de Republikeinse partij van ex-president Nicolas Sarkozy). Mensenrechtenorganisaties verheugen zich over het initiatief. Maar er weerklonk ook kritiek uit rechtse en extreemrechtse hoek. Zo haalde voorzitster Marine Le Pen van het Front National (FN) als vanouds uit. Valls ‘offert Calais op aan de dogma’s van de Europese Unie’, luidde het. Le Pen had het ook niet over vluchtelingen of asielzoekers, maar steevast over ‘clandestienen’ of ‘illegalen’. Ook Rachida Dati, Europarlementslid en minister van Justitie onder Sarkozy, vindt het initiatief van de regering maar niets. Valls wordt een ‘bondgenoot van de mensenrechtensmokkelaars’, zei de dochter van een Marokkaans-Algerijns echtpaar.

These are intense to say the least and digg into the deepest core of your Being. It is to bring your inside to become your outside ~ your inner light to become your light body.

All is well as you respond with understanding, recognition of what is going on. Recognizing that all is going on for Divine purpose helps one to claim that right of Divine essence and being one with it. You are all beautiful hearts coming to understand yourselves now through all the layers of your illuminated Truth. Let go of that which holds you back from your own evolution and go with your heart flow in trust.

This is a Gateway that wants you go with it and the easiest way is through allowance, trust and conscious participation. The hardest way is through resistance, denial and ignorance. This energy stream will be here nevertheless so you may want to choose the most fluent way and participate. Let all things unfold for you and hold within your heart the intention to be the conduit of Light which brings forth nothing but Love, Harmony, Happiness. Be the change you want to see and have in life.

Mensenrecht

Hier in België mag je zeggen en schrijven wat je wil. Je mag bovendien proberen om anderen van jouw ideeën te overtuigen. Dat je vrij bent om te zeggen wat je wil, staat in de Universele Verklaring van de Rechten van de Mens, in de Belgische grondwet en in het internationaal recht.

We vinden het recht op vrije meningsuiting bijvoorbeeld terug in het VN-Verdrag inzake Burgerlijke en Politieke Rechten (artikel 19):

1. Iedereen heeft het recht zonder inmenging een mening te koesteren.

2. Iedereen heeft het recht op vrijheid van meningsuiting; dit recht omvat mede de vrijheid inlichtingen en denkbeelden van welke aard ook te garen, te ontvangen en door te geven, ongeacht grenzen, hetzij mondeling, hetzij in geschreven of gedrukte vorm, in de vorm van kunst, of met behulp van andere media naar zijn keuze.

BeperkingenHet Europees Hof voor de Rechten van de Mens heeft er al vaak op gewezen dat de vrijheid van meningsuiting niet alleen geldt voor uitspraken waarin iedereen zich kan terugvinden. Deze vrijheid geldt ook voor uitspraken die een land of een deel van de bevolking kwetsen, choqueren of verontrusten. Zulke uitspraken zijn dus op zich niet strafbaar.

Maar aan het recht op vrijheid van meningsuiting zijn wel degelijk grenzen verbonden en is aldus niet absoluut. Zo mag in bepaalde gevallen het recht op vrijheid van meningsuiting beperkt worden om de nationale veiligheid, de bescherming van de goede zeden en de bescherming van de goede naam en rechten van anderen te waarborgen. Aan zulke inperkingen worden wel strikte eisen gesteld.

Uitspraken die aanzetten tot haat (hate speech) of discriminerende uitspraken kunnen ook niet door de beugel. De lijn tussen wat wel en wat niet kan is soms dun en niet iedereen is het altijd eens over die grens.

Dr Malidoma Patrice Some is now resident in Florida and has a PhD from the University of Michigan. He lives in an area of thick forest like the Dagara area of his childhood in Burkina Faso.

Dr Some was abducted at the age of 4 by Jesuit Priests from neighbouring Ghana who wanted to “save” him. After 15 years of enforced indoctrination into a totally different culture and belief system, he rebelled and escaped. He walked the 300 km (200 miles) back to Dano, the village of his youth, and discovered he could no longer remember his dialect and was unable to communicate with his own parents.

The solution for his tribe was to subject him to an extraordinary initiation ceremony which is described in his book ‘Of Water And The Spirit’.

In the shamanic view, mental illness signals “the birth of a healer”. Thus, mental disorders are spiritual emergencies, spiritual crises, and need to be regarded as such to aid the healer in being born.

What those in the West view as mental illness, the Dagara people regard as “good news from the other world.” The person going through the crisis has been chosen as a medium for a message to the community that needs to be communicated from the spirit realm. “Mental disorder, behavioral disorder of all kinds, signal the fact that two obviously incompatible energies have merged into the same field,” says Dr. Somé. These disturbances result when the person does not get assistance in dealing with the presence of the energy from the spirit realm.

One of the things Dr. Some encountered when he first came to the United States in 1980 for graduate study was how this country deals with mental illness. When a fellow student was sent to a mental institute due to “nervous depression,” Dr. Some went to visit him.

“I was so shocked. That was the first time I was brought face to face with what is done here to people exhibiting the same symptoms I’ve seen in my village.” What struck Dr. Some was that the attention given to such symptoms was based on pathology, on the idea that the condition is something that needs to stop. This was in complete opposition to the way his culture views such a situation.

As he looked around the stark ward at the patients, some in straitjackets, some zoned out on medications, others screaming, he observed to himself, “So this is how the healers who are attempting to be born are treated in this culture. What a loss! What a loss that a person who is finally being aligned with a power from the other world is just being wasted.”

The father of pop star Adam Ant has been linked to shock allegations that VIP paedophiles including top politicians raped and murdered children in Westminster.

Alfred Leslie Goddard, whose son had a string of chart hits in the 1980s, was jailed for preying on runaway boys nearly 30 years ago.

The former council porter was a member of a gang that included Britain’s most notorious paedophile, Sidney Cooke, who was later convicted of the sadistic gang rape and killing of a teenage boy and is suspected of murdering many more.

Now it has emerged that detectives investigating shock allegations of three murders and systemic child sex abuse by senior Establishment figures are looking into Goddard’s possible involvement.

The suggestion is that the child sex ring, dubbed the Dirty Dozen and known to have targeted vulnerable youngsters, could have passed on their victims for the MPs to abuse.

Goddard’s links to the controversial Operation Midland were revealed by ex-Tory MP Harvey Proctor last week in his furious denunciation of police for treating him as a suspect on the basis of claims made by a single, unnamed alleged victim.

Mr Proctor said he had been asked by officers if he knew Goddard during a lengthy police interview last Monday, in which he was also accused of taking part in sick child abuse alongside former Prime Minister Edward Heath. He denies all the allegations.

‘I was asked if I knew a number of people including Leslie Goddard,’ the former politician said, adding that he did not know him.

One source said last night: ‘It’s an important angle and I don’t think many people know Goddard was part of a ring who were suspected of supplying boys to VIPs.’

Goddard, then 58, was jailed for two years in June 1987 after being convicted at the Old Bailey of sex offences against two boys.

He was one of 12 men told by a judge that they had ‘taken advantage’ of the youths ‘to gratify your sexual desires’. The court heard they had ‘procured’ boys who had run away from home or were in care, plied them with drink and drugs then ‘hawked them about’ to men across London.

At the time, Goddard lived in Eccleston Square, Pimlico, close to the exclusive apartments of Dolphin Square where the VIP child abuse ring is said to have been based.

It was later claimed that his father’s disgrace contributed to the depression and mental health problems later suffered by his son, born Stuart Leslie Goddard, who as Adam Ant enjoyed seven Top 10 singles.

Two years after Goddard was sentenced, his co-defendant Sidney Cooke was one of four jailed for the manslaughter of Jason Swift. The gang took turns to rape the 14-year-old before his strangled body was found in a shallow grave.

Cooke is now 88 and still behind bars. Goddard died in 1997.

30-8-2015 : Brusselse agenten houden morgen protestactie.

De Brusselse agenten van politie houden morgenochtend een protestactie aan het commissariaat in de Paleizenstraat. Dat meldt de krant La Dernière Heure vandaag. De actie komt er omdat de agenten, die geen wapen mogen dragen, vanaf 1 september toch het verkeer zouden moeten regelen zonder vergezeld te zijn van een gewapende collega.

Sinds de aanslagen op Charlie Hebdo en de verijdelde aanslagen op politiekantoren door teruggekeerde Syriëstrijders, staat het dreigingsniveau voor politiekorpsen op niveau drie. Agenten van politie, die geen wapen mogen dragen, mogen bij de Brusselse lokale politie sindsdien niet meer alleen de straat op, maar slechts in het gezelschap van een inspecteur, die wel een wapen mag dragen.

Vorige week had de korpsleiding aangekondigd dat de agenten op 1 september, wanneer er heel veel verkeer verwacht wordt in de hoofdstad, in ploegen van twee en ongewapend het verkeer zouden moeten regelen. Die aankondiging zorgde voor onrust, en protest van de vakbonden. De korpsleiding had daarop laten weten dat de ploegen in de meeste gevallen gemengd zouden zijn, met één politieagent en één politie-inspecteur, en er steeds een snelle interventieploeg in de omgeving zou zijn.

Volgens de vakbonden blijkt nu uit een mededeling van de korpsleiding dat "de agenten slechts vergezeld zullen zijn van een inspecteur, voorzover de operationele capaciteit dat toelaat".

De vakbonden begrijpen naar eigen zeggen niet dat er op een korps met 2.000 mensen onvoldoende personeel zou zijn om gemengde ploegen te organiseren en houden daarom de protestactie.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invoked the threat of a second Holocaust Tuesday, as he urged the American Jewish community to demand that their congressional representatives oppose the nuclear deal with Iran.

“It wasn’t that long ago that the Jewish people failed to speak out in the face of mortal threats,” Netanyahu said in a live-streamed address hosted by the Jewish Federations of North America. “This is a time to stand up and be counted: Oppose this dangerous deal.”

For now, the Obama administration’s nuclear agreement has divided the American and Israeli Jewish communities. While Israeli Jews overwhelmingly oppose the deal, a survey conducted by the L.A. Jewish Journal found that 53% of American Jews want Congress to approve the agreement, while only 35% hope they will reject it.

President Obama sought to solidify that support Tuesday afternoon by meeting privately with the leaders of several American Jewish groups at the White House.

One likely reason for American Jews’ current support of the deal is the community’s faith in the president who negotiated it. Obama won 69% of the Jewish vote in 2012, even as Netanyahu all but endorsed his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

In his address Tuesday, Netanyahu seemed to acknowledge the strength of Jewish support for the president, insisting that “this isn’t a partisan issue in Israel and it shouldn’t be a partisan issue in the United States,” while imploring American Jews to “judge the deal on its substance alone.”

The prime minister lambasted that substance, alleging that the deal “does not block Iran’s path to the bomb; it paves the way for Iran to get the bomb.” Netanyahu argued that even if Iran fully complies with the deal, it will have enough nuclear infrastructure left in place when the deal expires in 15 years to assemble a full arsenal of atomic weapons. And if the Iranians decide to secretly cheat on the deal, Netanyahu claimed they could get a single nuclear weapon even sooner.

Netanyahu argued that Iran would have little trouble hiding its nuclear proliferation from inspectors, due to a stipulation in the agreement that requires the United Nations to give the Iranian regime 24 days’ notice before examining a suspected nuclear site. Supporters of the deal have argued that no sovereign state would allow international inspectors to survey its military sites without some notice, and that it would be prohibitively difficult for the Iranians to uproot a nuclear site in that amount of time. But Netanyahu argued that 24 days is excessive, allowing more than enough opportunity for the Iranians to move or conceal evidence of illicit uranium enrichment.

“That’s like the police giving a drug dealer two and a half weeks to clean out his lab,” Netanyahu said. “You can flush a lot of nuclear meth down the toilet in 24 days.”

Netanyahu also warned that by lifting sanctions on Iran, the deal would effectively channel money to Iranian sponsored terrorism, allowing the regime to create a “terrorist superpower.”

Supporters of the deal have often accused its opponents of wanting war – a claim made more credible by the fact that so many of the deal’s opponents, including Netanyahu, were vocal supporters of the American invasion of Iraq in 2003. But Netanyahu called that claim “outrageous.”

“Isrealis are going to be the ones who pay the highest price if there is war,” he said. “I don’t oppose this deal because I want war. I oppose this deal because I want to prevent war.”

Instead of military action, Netanyahu recommended heightening sanctions on Iran to force the regime to make greater concessions on its nuclear energy program and funding of terrorist organizations.

While Israeli politicians are largely united in opposition to the deal, several former members of the Israeli intelligence establishment have come out in support of the agreement.

Netanyahu concluded the broadcast by arguing that regardless of the deal’s impact on Israel, maintaining sanctions on the Iranian regime is in the interest of America’s own national security. Netanyahu pointed to the persistence of Ayatollah Khomeini’s anti-American rhetoric, even after the deal was signed, while claiming that Iran’s intercontinental ballistic missile program is designed for use against the U.S.

“You’re the ‘great satan.’ We’re just the ‘little satan,’” Netanyahu said.

Ban Ki-moon belegt top over vluchtelingencrisis.

Na de tragedies op de Middellandse Zee en in Oostenrijk heeft de secretaris-generaal van de Verenigde Naties, Ban Ki-moon, een topbijeenkomst over de vluchtelingen belegd in New York.

‘Ik vertrouw erop dat het thema prioriteit zal krijgen als de leiders van de wereld komende maand voor de Algemene Vergadering van de VN bijeenkomen’, zei Ban vrijdag in New York. Ban Ki-moon zal op 30 september een speciale bijeenkomst over het probleem organiseren.

‘Dit is een menselijke tragedie die een gezamenlijk politiek antwoord vergt. Deze crisis gaat over solidariteit, niet over getallen’, zei Ban.

De Verenigde Naties riepen tot een vastberaden optreden tegen smokkelbendes op. ‘Deze mensensmokkelaars zijn de ergste misdaadbendes en het is tragisch dat ze zich op de Middellandse Zee en ondertussen ook op de autowegen in Midden-Europa kunnen bewegen’, zei de Hoge Commissaris voor de Vluchtelingen van de VN, António Guterres, vrijdag in Genève.

Bied alle kansarme gezinnen gezinsondersteuning aan (Opinie / Dutch)

Ouders van kansarme kinderen zijn in essentie net zoals ouders uit de middenklasse: ze willen het beste voor hun kinderen

De reeks 'Bank achteruit' in De Morgen toont in de eerste plaats dat de kloof tussen kansrijke en kansarme kinderen in Vlaanderen nog steeds groot is. Taalachterstand en armoede komen in de verhalen vaak naar voren als de oorzaken van deze kloof. De scholen en leerkrachten lijken, ondanks de energie en het enthousiasme, niet opgewassen tegen de opdracht om elk kind een gelijke kans te geven.

Het is dan ook niet enkel de schoolse omgeving die kansen van kinderen bepalen. Het gezin neemt ook een belangrijke plaats in, wellicht de belangrijkste. Zo is er het verhaal van de Turkse vader wiens jongste dochter, nog in de kleuterklas, onvoldoende goed Nederlands spreekt. Dat hypothekeert haar kansen om te slagen in het eerste leerjaar, en zo haar hele verdere schoolse en professionele carrière. Toch blijkt de dochter vaak maar halve dagen naar de kleuterschool te komen, te weinig om het Nederlands voldoende machtig te worden.

Voor Wouter Duyck, professor psychologie (UGent), is de uitbreiding van de leerplicht naar de kleuterjaren dan ook een must (DM 26/8). Het is een dwingende maatregel, maar één die hier gepast lijkt. Je kan als overheid paternalistisch optreden ten aanzien van kinderen als er duidelijk bewijs is dat de dwang in het belang van het kind is.

Het is echter nogmaals de oplossing zoeken op school. Dat is nodig, maar onvoldoende. Er moet ook meer in het gezin zelf gebeuren. Die interventie is veel moeilijker af te dwingen, omdat je dan binnentreedt in de privacy van het gezin. Dwang zou hier zelfs het tegengestelde effect kunnen hebben.

Maar dwang hoeft niet: er zijn sterke aanwijzingen in de wetenschappelijke literatuur dat het voldoende is om de ondersteuning vrijwillig aan te bieden. Ouders van kansarme kinderen zijn immers in essentie net zoals ouders uit de middenklasse: veruit de meeste ouders willen het beste voor hun kinderen. Als ondersteuning vrijwillig aangeboden wordt, gaan de meeste ouders daar ook op in. En wat meer is, dergelijke programma's hebben een significante en blijvende impact te op de latere ontwikkeling van de kinderen.

Uit Amerikaans onderzoek naar deze vorm van early child education blijkt dat kansarme kinderen uit gezinnen die ondersteund worden doorgaans meer aan het werk zijn, minder crimineel gedrag vertonen en gezonder zijn. En het effect is sterker als de gezinsondersteuning vroeger begint, startend bij de geboorte (en zelfs nog vroeger). Dat impliceert dus een focus op het gezin.

De Amerikaanse initiatieven zijn misschien niet zomaar over te zetten naar Vlaanderen, omdat de context te verschillend kan zijn. We zullen dus zelf moeten uitzoeken wat hier wel en niet werkt. Dat betekent dat er experimenten moeten opgezet worden die wetenschappelijk opgevolgd worden, waarbij sommige, willekeurig geselecteerde gezinnen ondersteund worden en andere niet. Na een bepaalde tijd, te meten in jaren, kunnen dan de eventuele effecten van de ondersteuning gemeten worden.

Dat vraagt extra middelen en de nodige tijd. Daarbij mogen budgettaire overwegingen niet in de weg staan. Professor Duyck verwijst naar het onderzoek van James Heckman die het jaarlijks rendement van dergelijke investeringen schat op 7 à 10 procent; het gaat dan om gezinsondersteuning dat zich richt op zeer jonge kinderen. De langetermijnrente staat slechts op 1 procent. Met andere woorden, elke CEO geeft zijn zegen voor een dergelijke investering omdat ze veel geld zal opbrengen.

Bovendien is de investering rechtvaardig. De politiek mag dus niet aarzelen. Er moet nu meer geld naar vrijwillige gezinsondersteuning, met ruimte voor experimenten en wetenschappelijke omkadering.

Boddhisattva Cundi Mantra

If one has recited this mantra 100,000 times, one will see in one's dreams Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, voice-hearers, or Pratyekabuddhas, and see oneself vomit black things. For graver sins, one should recite the mantra 200,000 times. Then one will also see in one's dreams Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as well as oneself vomit black things. If one is unable to get such good dreams because of having committed any of the five rebellious acts, one should further recite the mantra 700,000 times. Then one should have these good dreams and even see oneself vomit white things. These are signs of purification, indicating that this person's sins have been expunged. If there are good laymen and laywomen who keep reciting this mantra 800,000 times, their homes will not be ravaged by catastrophes or diseases. Their work will be smooth and harmonious, and others will believe and accept what they say.

I'm a student of many spiritual traditions for years. I respect all religions, brotherhoods, sciences and philosophies but recommend everyone to follow their own heart and think for themselves. I'm only a independent student who started to walk this path after many severe crises of health, both mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually which forced me on a spiritual path in order to recover (through yoga, buddhist meditation and shamanism, for instance - combined with complementary Western medicine). Everything I faced during difficult periods in my life knocked my on my knees surrendering to something bigger than ourselves, some call it God, others call it the universe. I don't need followers or readers who don't think for themselves. Truth can be found in the very depths of your own heart - or trough a study of spiritual texts and spiritual practice, for some it can even be found through science. I believe that with wisdom, love and compassion, we can evolve personally and collectively towards happiness and peace, so much needed in todays world, before it might be too late. My greatest influence are Sri Aurobindo's integral yoga, the love of Jesus Christ, the diplomacy of Sri Krishna, the faith of Mohammed and the Compassion of the Buddha. I recommend integral yoga because it keeps us away from the danger of spiritual practice as an excuse to escape the duties and difficulties of everyday life; I try to approach life as a bodhisattva, and am still conquering myself and my personal weaknesses from day to day, with as the main goal of being and remaining a good person in the end. I respect all governments and all parties, I wish love and happiness for every living creature on this beautiful blue planet. Lord Krishna warned us that this Kali Yuga is an epoch that makes it extremely difficult for people with morals and values, but I want to encourage everyone who is reading this not to give up to live for the Good, the True and the Beautiful. The universe always rewards and protects good people, as a result of the law of cause and effect. Keep going and many blessings. Understand that I am only a normal, humble human being. The work to be done by the medical community :

A readjustment of the medical knowledge of man, resulting in a truer understanding of the physical body, of its treatment, and of its protection, and thus producing a juster apprehension of the laws of health. The aim of the physician will then be to find out what it is in a man's life which is preventing egoic energy from flooding every part of his being; to find out what lines of thought are being indulged in which are causing that inertia of the will aspect which is so conducive to wrongdoing; to ascertain what it is in the emotional body which is affecting the nervous system, and thus obstructing the flow of energy from the love petals of the egoic lotus (via the astral permanent atom) to the astral body, and from thence to the nervous system; to discover what is the hindrance in the etheric body which is preventing the right flow of prana, or of solar vitality to every part of the body.
It is essential that in days to come medical men should realize that disease in the physical body is incidental to wrong internal conditions. This is already being somewhat considered but the whole question will remain but a beautiful theory (even though an incontrovertible one in view of the achievements of mental scientists and of the various faith healers) until the true nature of the ego, its constitution, its powers, and its field of influence are duly apprehended.
This revelation will come when medical men accept this [812] teaching as a working hypothesis, and then begin to note, for instance, the powers of endurance shown by the great souls of the earth, and their capacity to work at high pressure, and to remain practically immune from disease until (at the close of a long life of usefulness) the Ego deliberately chooses to "die-out" of physical existence. It will come when the medical profession concentrates upon preventative action, substituting sunshine, a vegetarian diet, and the application of the laws of magnetic vibration and vitality for the present regimen of drugs and surgical operations. Then will come the time when finer and better human beings will manifest on earth. When also physicians learn the nature of the etheric body, and the work of the spleen as a focal point for pranic emanations, then sound principles and methods will be introduced which will do away with such diseases as tuberculosis, debility, malnutrition and the diseases of the blood and of the kidneys. When doctors comprehend the effect of the emotions upon the nervous system, they will turn their attention to the amelioration of environal conditions, and will study the effects of the emotional currents upon the fluids of the body, and primarily upon the great nerve centers, and the spinal column. When the connection between the dense physical and the subtler bodies is a fact established in medical circles, then will the right treatment of lunacy, of obsessions, and of wrong mental conditions be better comprehended, and the results more successful; finally, when the nature of egoic force, or of energy is studied, and the function of the physical brain as the transmitter of egoic intent is better comprehended, then the coordination of man's entire being will be studied, and illness, debility and disease, will be traced to their just cause, and will be treated through the cause and not just through the effect.
(2) The entire social world of thought will apply itself to the understanding of the emotional nature of [813] humanity, to the group relationships involved, and to the interaction between individuals and other individuals, between groups and other groups. These relationships will be interpreted wisely and broadly and a man will be taught his responsibility to the lesser lives which he ensouls. This will produce a just direction of individual force, and its utilization for the stabilization, the development, and the refining of the substance of the different vehicles. Men will also be taught their definite responsibility under law to their own individual families. This will bring about the protection of the family unit, and its scientific development; it will cause the elimination of marital troubles, and the abolition of abuses of different kinds, so prevalent now in many family circles.
Responsibility to the community in which a man is placed will likewise be emphasized. Men will be taught the true esoteric meaning of citizenship - a citizenship based upon egoic group relations, the law of rebirth, and the real meaning of the law of karma. They will be taught national responsibility, and the place of the community within the nation, and of the nation within the comity of nations. Men will finally be taught their responsibility to the animal kingdom. This will be brought about in three ways:
Man's truer understanding of his own animal nature.
A comprehension of the laws of individualization, and the effect of the influence of the fourth, or human, kingdom upon the third, or animal, kingdom.
The work of an Avatar of a lesser order Who will come in the beginning of the next century to reveal to man his relationship to the third kingdom. His way is being prepared by the many who in these days are developing public interest through the [814] various societies for the benefit and protection of animals, and through the many stories to be found in books and current periodicals.
We are told by H. P. B. (S. D., III, 580.) that the sense of responsibility is one of the first indications of egoic control, and as more and more of the human family come under egoic influence, conditions will be bettered slowly and steadily in every department of life.

Interpreting Jihad as an inner war within ourselves.

I interpret jihad as the inner struggle between the personality and the soul (Higher Self). It's an INNER WAR for fullfilment with the Supreme Godhead (God, Allah, Jehova, Adonai, Jahwe, Krishna, etcetera), can be found in other religions as well. It shouldn't include a violent outer war. Respecting everyone, both religious or mystical (Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Sufi, ...) and non-religious [atheistic, agnostic, pagan] must be the goal. I reject all violent wars in the name of religion, all religions must be able to live in peace together, and non-fundamentalistic, respecting other traditions as Sufism as well, as well as other esoteric traditions of all religions, as well as the regular world religions. Stop the wars, Isis. Don't destroy your fellow human beings. We respect you! Peace! Put down the weapons and realise that the war is within, there is no outer enemy. Pray, meditate, and be calm.

There are two commonly accepted meanings of jihad: an inner spiritual struggle and an outer physical struggle.[3] The "greater jihad" is the inner struggle by a believer to fulfill his religious duties.[3][7] This non-violent meaning is stressed by both Muslim[8] and non-Muslim[9] authors. However, there is consensus amongst Islamic scholars that the concept of jihad will always include armed struggle against persecution and oppression.

The name of God (Allah) should never be used in order to hurt other people from other religions, even atheists have the right to live. I believe in a God and their prophets, what Islam calls Allah with His prophet Muhammed, Buddhism calls the teacher Buddha, Hinduism calls Him Krishna, and Christianity calls God's prophet Jesus. They all share the same message: "Love one another, Work for peace. Don't fight, Don't kill, Don't hurt other people. Love God!" Religion should work towards reunion with God without violence, all else is rubbish and misunderstanding of the purpose of religion.

"...one day of Brahma consists of a thousand cycles of four yugas, or ages: Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali. The cycle of Satya is characterized by virtue, wisdom and religion, there being practically no ignorance and vice, and the yuga lasts 1,728,000 years. In the Treta-yuga vice is introduced, and this yuga lasts 1,296,000 years. In the Dvapara-yuga there is an even greater decline in virtue and religion, vice increasing, and this yuga lasts 864,000 years. And finally in Kali-yuga (the yuga we have now been experiencing over the past 5,000 years) there is an abundance of strife, ignorance, irreligion and vice, true virtue being practically nonexistent, and this yuga lasts 432,000 years. In Kali-yuga vice increases to such a point that at the termination of the yuga the Supreme Lord Himself appears as the Kalki Avatara, vanquishes the demons, saves His devotees, and commences another Satya-yuga. Then the process is set rolling again. These four yugas, rotating a thousand times, comprise one day of Brahma, and the same number comprise one night. Brahma lives one hundred of such years and then dies (some versions call it the sleep of Brahma). These hundred years by earth calculations total to 311 trillion and 40 billion earth years. By these calculations the life of Brahma seems fantastic and interminable, but from the viewpoint of eternity it is as brief as a lightning flash."

The Sanskrit text Brahma-vaivarta Purana describes a dialogue between Lord Krishna and the Goddess Ganges. Here, Krishna says that after 5,000 years of Kali Yuga there will be a dawn of a new Golden Age which will last for 10,000 years (Text 50, 59). This can be immediately understood in the context of the Yuga Cycle timeline described here.

True healing

What is Sakadagami?

The second stage of enlightenment is that of the Sakadāgāmī (Sanskrit: Sakṛdāgāmin), literally meaning "one who once (sakṛt) comes (āgacchati)". The once-returner will at most return to the human world one more time. Both the stream-enterer and the once-returner have abandoned the first three fetters. The stream-enterer and once-returner are distinguished by the fact that the once-returner has weakened lust, hate, and delusion to a greater degree. The once-returner therefore has fewer than seven rebirths. They may take place in higher planes but will include rebirth in the human world at most only once more. Once-returners do not have only one more rebirth, as the name suggests, for that may not even be said with certainty about the non-returner who can take multiple rebirths in the five "Pure Abodes".

What is an Arhat?

What is a Mahatma?

Modern psychiatry and its new inquisition

Where in the middle ages, the Church killed many so-called witches and heretics, modern day psychiatry tends to do the same with the so-called mentally ill. People who hear voices were persecuted by the Inquisition, today they are drugged, locked up against their wills and labeled insane.

Bodhisattva

(Sanskrit) A compound word: literally "he whose essence (sattva) has become intelligence (bodhi)." As explained exoterically, a bodhisattva means one who in another incarnation or in a few more incarnations will become a buddha. A bodhisattva from the standpoint of the occult teachings is more than that. When a man, a human being, has reached the state where his ego becomes conscious, fully so, of its inner divinity, becomes clothed with the buddhic ray — where, so to say, the personal man has put on the garments of inner immortality in actuality, on this earth, here and now — that man is a bodhisattva. His higher principles have nearly reached nirvana. When they do so finally, such a man is a buddha, a human buddha, a manushya-buddha. Obviously, if such a bodhisattva were to reincarnate, in the next incarnation or in a very few future incarnations thereafter, he would be a manushya-buddha. A buddha, in the esoteric teaching, is one whose higher principles can learn nothing more. They have reached nirvana and remain there; but the spiritually awakened personal man, the bodhisattva, the person made semi-divine to use popular language, instead of choosing his reward in the nirvana of a less degree, remains on earth out of pity and compassion for inferior beings, and becomes what is called a nirmanakaya. In a very mystical part of the esoteric philosophy, a bodhisattva is the representative on earth of a dhyani-buddha or celestial buddha — in other words, one who has become an incarnation or expression of his own divine monad.

Comprises two concepts: Bodhi—enlightenment or awakening, and Sattva—the essence. Bodhisattvas were the disciples of Buddhas, who voluntarily renounced their personal liberation and, following the example of their Teacher, entered upon a long, weary, thorny path of help to humanity. Such Boddhisattvas appear on earth in the midst of the most varying conditions of life. They possess the qualities of the maximum development of energy, courage, patience, constancy of striving and fearlessness. There are three joys of Bodhisattvas: the joy of giving, the joy of helping and the joy of eternal perception. Patience, always, in all, and everywhere. The Sons of Budda, the Sons of Conquerors, Bodhisattvas in their active compassion are the Mothers to the all-existing. From among their number came the founders of the great kingdoms, great religions and philosophies, many alchemists and several saints. (LHR I, pp 365-366)

A self-sacrificing, compassionate helper of humanity. ... Physically indistinguishable in any way from the rest of humanity, they nevertheless differ completely in their psychology, constantly being the heralds of the principle of the common welfare ... What qualities must a Bodhisattva possess? In the Teaching of Gotama Buddha and in the Teaching of Bodhisattva Maitreya, given by Him to Asanga, according to tradition in the fourth century, the maximum development of energy, courage, patience, constancy of striving and fearlessness were first of all underlined. Energy is the basis of everything, as it alone contains all possibilities. Buddhas are eternally in action; immobility is unknown to Them.
