Wisdom of today : Nirmanakaya / Buddha of Compassion.
Nirmanakaya
(Sanskrit) A compound of two words: nirmana, a participle meaning "forming," "creating"; kaya, a word meaning "body," "robe," "vehicle"; thus, nirmanakaya means "formed-body." A nirmanakaya, however, is really a state assumed by or entered into by a bodhisattva — an individual man made semi-divine who, to use popular language, instead of choosing his reward in the nirvana of a less degree, remains on earth out of pity and compassion for inferior beings, clothing himself in a nirmanakayic vesture. When that state is ended the nirmanakaya ends.
A nirmanakaya is a complete man possessing all the principles of his constitution except the linga-sarira and its accompanying physical body. He is one who lives on the plane of being next superior to the physical plane, and his purpose in so doing is to save men from themselves by being with them, and by continuously instilling thoughts of self-sacrifice, of self-forgetfulness, of spiritual and moral beauty, of mutual help, of compassion, and of pity.
Nirmanakaya is the third or lowest, exoterically speaking, of what is called in Sanskrit trikaya or "three bodies." The highest is the dharmakaya, in which state are the nirvanis and full pratyeka buddhas, etc.; the second state is the sambhogakaya, intermediate between the former and, thirdly, the nirmanakaya. The nirmanakaya vesture or condition enables one entering it to live in touch and sympathy with the world of men. The sambhogakaya enables one in that state to be conscious indeed to a certain extent of the world of men and its griefs and sorrows, but with little power or impulse to render aid. The dharmakaya vesture is so pure and holy, and indeed so high, that the one possessing the dharmakaya or who is in it, is virtually out of all touch with anything inferior to himself. It is, therefore, in the nirmanakaya vesture if not in physical form that live and work the Buddhas of Compassion, the greatest sages and seers, and all the superholy men who through striving through ages of evolution bring forth into manifestation and power and function the divinity within. The doctrine of the nirmanakayas is one of the most suggestive, profound, and beautiful teachings of the esoteric philosophy.
Buddha(s) of Compassion : One who, having won all, gained all b gained the right to kosmic peace and bliss b renounces it so that he may return as a Son of Light in order to help humanity, and indeed all that is. The Buddhas of Compassion are the noblest flowers of the human race.

There is never fear from what is given away;
But what is kept at home gives rise to fears
That it is insufficient, ordinary, or needing constant protection.
If you give away, these faults never harm you.
By giving away you achieve happiness in future lives;
Not giving brings suffering in this life.
Human wealth is like a shooting star -
What is not given away will cease to exist.
Wealth not given is transitory and will be gone;
By giving it away it remains a treasury.
Wealth of no value comes to have value
When you strive to help living beings.
The wise praise giving wealth away.
The childish persons likes to hoard it.
No wealth is kept by holding on to it.
From giving it alway excellence always arises.
By giving things away, you no longer grasp the afflictions;
Being miserly breeds afflictions on an ignoble path.
Noble beings say generosity is the best path,
While its opposite is a bad path.

The trance state in Bali serves as an important adaptive fuction for children. In parts of Africa, trance is a social and religious necessity, required for kundalini arousal.
In South Africa, a state which Western psychiatry would call acute schizophrenia is a prerequisite for initiation in the priesthood by one Kalahari tribe.
Here, we must speak of the many
creative people who are now suffering because of the mistakes we
have made in the past. We have a special obligation to make every
effort to correct these mistakes. At this time in our society it
could be that charismatic and strangely acting people as shamans,
trance mediums, and masts (the God-intoxicated) might find themselves
in custodial care.
Possibly there are many now so situated who
could be found and released to more positive uses among us. The
problem is to recognise them among other inmates of our institutions.
Here Meher Baba's work with the masts would be a useful presedent to
study. If it is true that, to a certain extent, “it takes one to
know one”, a special and invaluable use for people who have already
experienced the physio-kundalini process would be to assist us in
such a project.
There are many undergoing this process who at times feel quite insane. When they behave well and keep silent they might avoid being called schizophrenic, or being hospitalized or sedated. Nevertheless their isolation and sense of separation from others may cause them much suffering. We must reach such people, their families, and society with information to help them to recognise their condition as a blessing, not a curse.
Certainly we must no longer subject such people, who might be in the midst of a rebirth process, to drugs or shock therapies, approaches which are the opposite poles to creative selfdevelopment.
These people, often confused, fearful,
and disoriented, are already undergoing a therapy from within, far
superior to any that we know how to administer from without.

The Swami knew that the effects of the Kali- Yuga made it very difficult for ordinary people to remain on any spiritual path. He knew people would need help in finding spiritual illumination, since the influence of the Kali-Yuga made it difficult for people to advance spiritually unless they had already progressed to a high state of awareness. A most important aspect of this account is that Swami Gangadhar Tirth Maharaj had been blessed with the discovery of a very special means of awakening spiritual consciousness. This was truly a great discovery, since previously the awakening of spiritual consciousness was very difficult. Few people qualified for receiving help even from very advance souls. Because of the effects of the Kali-Yuga, no means were available to advance the cause of ordinary seekers because of these factors.
