Dr Gabriel Cousens Torah quote.

"Parashah Lekh Lekha is the foundation statement of Judaism as a full enlightenment path. It is our introduction to Avraham as seed of the Jewish people. Often, in a play or a movie, its essence is apparent in the opening lines. Similarly, the message that Avraham received from El Shaddai, “lekh lekha”, contains the Jewish Way essence and the mystery of enlightenment for all the great liberation traditions.
"The phrase “lekh lekha” means “go to your self”—but what does that mean? Avraham is told in a Ruach HaKodesh experience, “Leave your country, leave your birthplace, and leave your father’s home.” These are the elements for the normal ego structure that make up our illusory sense of self. Nation, birthplace, and family are the materials that we build our ego identity upon, and it is from these that we establish our illusory sense of self. They create the illusion of personal security, citizenship, property rights, and inheritance. God was not only commanding a geographical move. El Shaddai, the great nurturer and protector, had much more in mind.
"It is the ultimate purpose of life to know the divine presence; to know the Self, which is rooted in the Self of God. This Ruach HaKodesh experience, a heavenly s’micha m’shefa, was the neshikat elohut, divine kiss, activating the t’shukat deveikut, the urge for divine merging. The Self includes the soul essence and the spark of God in all people and in all things. It is prior to consciousness."
