Divine Protection of Bodhisattvas: Evidence from Mahayana Buddhism and Historical Accounts.

Based on the principles of Mahayana Buddhism and the lives of bodhisattvas throughout history, it is evident that bodhisattvas are indeed divinely protected. This divine protection is not an inherent, inviolable shield but rather a result of their spiritual practices, virtues, and the blessings they receive from enlightened beings. Here, we will explore the evidence supporting the divine protection of bodhisattvas and provide recommendations for further learning.

1. Divine Association and Blessings:

  • Bodhisattva Vows: Bodhisattvas take vows to work towards the enlightenment of all sentient beings, which aligns them with the divine will and purpose. These vows create a karmic connection with enlightened beings, who then bestow their blessings and protection upon them.
  • Guru-Disciple Relationship: In Mahayana Buddhism, the guru-disciple relationship is considered sacred and divine. Bodhisattvas, as spiritual guides, receive divine blessings and protection from their own gurus and, ultimately, from the Buddha himself.
  • Divine Empowerment: Throughout their spiritual journey, bodhisattvas receive divine empowerments, such as the Four Empowerments of the Buddha, which bestow upon them the blessings and protection of the enlightened lineage.

2. Spiritual Practices and Virtues:

  • Meditation: Bodhisattvas engage in deep meditation practices, such as the development of loving-kindness, compassion, and wisdom, which purify their minds and hearts, making them less susceptible to negative influences and more receptive to divine protection.
  • Ethical Conduct: By upholding the Five Precepts and the bodhisattva vows, bodhisattvas cultivate positive karma, which attracts divine blessings and protection.
  • Generosity: Bodhisattvas practice generosity with their time, energy, and resources, creating a network of positive karma and goodwill that protects them and supports their spiritual journey.

3. Testimonials and Historical Accounts:

Throughout history, numerous bodhisattvas have been protected by divine forces in various ways, such as:

  • Miraculous Events: Accounts of bodhisattvas being protected by miraculous events, such as being saved from danger, healing from illnesses, or being provided with necessary resources when in need.
  • Divine Interventions: Stories of bodhisattvas being protected by divine beings, such as deities, guardians, or enlightened masters, who intervene on their behalf.
  • Prophecies and Predictions: Accounts of bodhisattvas receiving prophecies or predictions about their lives and missions, indicating divine guidance and protection.

4. Scriptural Evidence:

  • The Lotus Sutra (Chapter 14): This chapter describes the divine protection and empowerment of bodhisattvas, stating that they are protected by the Buddha and the enlightened lineage, and that they possess the power to protect others as well.
  • The Avatamsaka Sutra (Gandavyuha Chapter): This chapter tells the story of Sudhana, a bodhisattva who receives divine protection and guidance from various enlightened beings as he seeks to perfect his spiritual journey.

Summary: Divine Protection of Bodhisattvas: Evidence from Mahayana Buddhism and Historical Accounts

Brighteon.AI by Mike Adams

Wisdom of today by Tsong Kha Pa on karma.

Like a poison that has been ingested,
The commission of even small sin.
Creates in your lives hereafter
Great fear and a terrible downfall.

As when grain ripens into a bounty
Even the creation of small merit.
Leads in lives hereafter to great happiness
And will be immensely meaningful as well.

Just as the shadows of birds who dwell

In the sky move along with them,

Beings are followed by

What right and what wrong they have done.

Just as when those with few provisions

Set out on the road and travel in suffering.

Living beings who have not cultivated good karma

Travel to the miserable realms.

Just as when those who have prepared many provisions.

Set out on the road and travel in happiness,

Living beings who have cultivated good karma

Travel to the happy realms.

Do not scorn even the thiniest sin,

Thinking that it will do no harm;

It is through the accumulation of drops of water

That a great vessel gradually fills.

Do no think that the commission

Of even a tiny sin will not pursue you.

Just as a large vessel is filled

By falling drops of water,

So too is a fool filled up with sins.

Accumulated a little at a time.

Do not think that the cultivation.

Of even a tiny virtue will not pursue you.

Just a a large pot is filled

By falling drops of water,

So too are the steadfast filled up

By virtues accumulated a little at a time.

On january 13 2026 I am seven years free from amphetamines and cocaine,
thanks to the wake-up call given by Bart De Wever, the wisdom provided by Swami Prabhupada, the Maha Mantra and the teachings of the devotees at Govinda temple.
On Christmas I had two glasses of red Bordeaux. I stopped after two drinks daily and don't like to become drunk. Some ceremonial wine is accepted in the Torah-tradition and also in Christianity
I am happy now to live free of alcohol until the next Christmas.
I still struggle with nicotine to combat the nanobots.

Love, Light and Compassion for all
Thank You Gautama and Prabhupada.
Don't follow Me,
Follow His Divine Grace Swami Prabhupada, He was more advanced
According to Prabhupada, Lord Buddha was an incarnation of Krishna.

And thanks to Swami Nardanand from the Siddha Maha Yoga lineage.

At New Year's Eve I spend the night in bed,
My nervous system collapsed after a stressful year with a lot of selfless service and growth so no party for me, no telephone but rest.
