It's National Amy Day. (Saint Amy)

National Amy Day is celebrated every year on 28 January. In modern French, Amy is an English variant of the Old French name Aimée. Amée was a translation of ‘Amata,’ a Latin name originating from ‘Amatus,’ which means ‘beloved.’ Amie and Ami are two other spelling possibilities. Although it is much less popular for babies, Amy was the second most popular baby name in the 1970s, right after Jennifer. It is still a short, charming “Little Women’s” style classic today. Several berries bet on Amy to resurface as a 1970s-era monicker. In the late 1800s, Amy and the other “Little Women” names gained enormous popularity.
