Wisdom of today.

sanatana dharma : the natural way of life that leads to Enlightenment (info by Gabriel Cousens).

“People in general, especially in this Age of Kali, are enamored by the external energy of Kṛṣṇa, and they wrongly think that by advancement of material comforts every man will be happy. They have no knowledge that the material or external nature is very strong, for everyone is strongly bound by the stringent laws of material nature.”
“We hope, therefore, that people will derive the greatest benefit by studying Bhagavad-gītā As It Is as we have presented it here, and if even one man becomes a pure devotee of the Lord, we shall consider our attempt a success.” - Prabhupada (https://founderacharya.com/2025/05/21/remembering-the-mood-and-mission-of-srila-prabhupada/)

The Vedas are not against Judaism or Christianity or Islam. Unity is the best choice.

Srila Prabhupada’s mission was highly important as it offered a spiritual alternative to counter the negative, illusion-driven forces of Kali Yuga. By providing a structured lifestyle and philosophy, he directly transformed the 1960s counterculture, rescuing many wandering youth from addiction and helping them find purpose. [1, 2]
The Fight Against Kali Yuga
  • The Spiritual Diagnosis: In Vaishnava theology, Kali Yuga is characterized by ignorance, quarrel, and hypocrisy. Prabhupada identified the "demonic" influences of this age as internal attachments to greed, intoxication, illicit sex, and violence rather than literal monsters. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • The Weapon of Choice: His mission did not focus on physical combat, but rather on "destroying the demons" of ignorance by spreading sankirtana (congregational chanting). He taught that chanting the Hare Krishna mantra was the most effective remedy to purify consciousness. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Helping the Hippies
  • A Spiritual Haven: In the 1960s, counterculture youth in the West were disillusioned by materialism and often engaged in destructive habits. Prabhupada reached out directly to these hippies in places like San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, offering them a safe spiritual community. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Rigorous Transformation: He redirected their search for peace and liberation by teaching them the science of Bhakti Yoga. To enter his society, he required disciples to strictly follow four regulative principles: no meat-eating, no gambling, no intoxication, and no illicit sex. [1, 2]
  • Creating Missionaries: By engaging the hippies' natural desire to drop out of materialistic society, he effectively trained thousands of them to become disciplined, devoted missionaries. [1, 2, 3]
