The Olive as a symbol of Peace.

The fruiting of olive tree likens the rich blessings of God in the lives of believers (Psalms 51: 10). The olive tree rich in fruiting symbolize a mother which enriches her home with her children, the fruits of her love (Psalms 127: 3).

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said “Eat olive oil and massage it over your bodies since it is a holy (Mubarak) tree”. He also stated that olive oil cures 70 diseases.

Olives are the gift from heaven (Jannah) to mankind. Apart from the Date fruit, olives are also considered of utmost importance in Islam. Olive and its tree has been mentioned a number of times both in the Quran and hadith. Olive is considered a “blessed” fruit in Islam and apart from it being a good source of nutrition, it is also used as a health food and has its usage in “ruqyah treatment.”

The olive tree, one of the blessings of the plant kingdom, not only has nutritional, medicinal and cosmetic value; it also fulfils a religious function as a sign (ayah) of Allah(SWT).
